Music Generation Cavan/Monaghan
Music Generation Cavan/Monaghan
Music Generation is Ireland’s national music education programme, which transforms the lives of children and young people ages 0 to 18 through creating access to high-quality subsidised vocal and instrumental tuition in their local areas.
Initiated by Music Network in 2010, Music Generation is co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds, the Department of Education and Skills and Local Music Education Partnerships. Currently the programme operates in 25 Areas of Ireland, including Cavan and Monaghan.
The Lead Partner for Music Generation Cavan/Monaghan is Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board, in partnership with Cavan County Council and Monaghan County Council. We work with Early Years’ childcare providers, primary schools, youth clubs and youth organisations to deliver a suite of programmes which enrich the lives of children and young people through performance music education. Our team of musicians are highly qualified and experienced and work across the two counties to offer accessible music education.
The core values of Music Generation:
- Music Generation aims to remove the barriers that prevent children and young people from participating in music, so affordability and accessibility are central to all programmes.
- Music Generation believes in an inclusive approach to teaching and learning music, which ensures that the interests of the child/young person are valued and taken into account.
- We work with skilled and passionate musicians, who inspire and support young people to develop their creativity and musical skills.
